App Review: My BackUp Pro Android App

Posted on 17 February 2010 by admin

With the myriad of new phones coming out on the market, there is a hesitancy to buy a new phone. This may be due to the necessity or sometimes inability to transfer all your saved data from one to the other. There is hope, however, with My BackUp Pro, an app that lets you back up your phone to an SD card or a secure server for easy transfer of all data to a brand new Android.

My BackUp Pro

My BackUp Pro offers a secure server service at rerware.com that allows for either a manual back at your discretion or a scheduled one on a regular basis. This gives you the ability to back all the apps currently installed on your phone along with a myriad of other things. These include contacts, bookmarks, system settings, playlists, alarms and much, much more.

Once this is completed, you will have the ability to restore any or all the data to a new phone. There are five buttons on the main menu that allow different selections to be made for the restore. They are Back Up, Restore, Schedule, View and Manage.

Back Up is self-explanatory. This button allows for the back up to be sent either to the SD card or the server. From this location, you will be able to select exactly which items you wish to save to upload to the new phone, sort of like a spring cleaning function.

The Schedule button will allow for frequent backups to the secure server in case your phone should ever be lost or stolen. This is a great app to have for any Android and at $4.99 a bargain, should you ever lose the phone.
