The battery in a Smartphone is quite possibly the biggest issue when it comes to owning one. Quite a few apps out there will kill one in short order if left unattended. Power Manager for X-Phone Software helps the Android user manage their phone’s battery usage, letting them get the most out of their day-to-day phone use.

The app allows a completely customized power management system to be user set on the phone. These are different from the phones basic power saving settings and will allow for tweaking by each individual owner. This will include settings like how long the screen stays on during a call and if the keyboard is left open, how long the device stays on.
The apps also allows for on the go changes to be made quickly and easily. The ability to make other changes to the phone’s operation such as turning off the automatic synchronization should the battery level drop below a certain point. It will also allow settings to be made to the screen brightness should the phone be on battery along with changing the screen timeout for when it plugged in.
There are two ways to handle making changes using this app. The first is the manual changes that can be affected from the UI and the second is by utilizing the built in profiles. These profiles have a pre-determined group of settings and depending on the conditions the phone is under, the correct profile will kick into operation.
The one unique feature of this app is that it actually “learns” as it is in use. By gathering statistics of the phone’s usage, it can be used to create a custom profile to help extend the battery life even further. The app is a paid one, available through either X-Phone or the Android Market, along with there being a free trial version available to see if it works for you.
