Sports fans, this one is strictly for you. The Scoreboard app for Android is the only app you will ever need to follow all your favorite sports teams, no matter where you are. The only thing you cannot do with this is live blog, but there is an app for that in the Market also.

Once the app has been downloaded, you will see a list of the different sports leagues that the app covers. By simply long pressing on the league name, a list of all of the teams in that league will come on the screen. This app is pretty easy so far, huh?

From there you may select each of the teams you wish to follow and create lists for each league and each sport. Once all of your teams have been selected and added to a favorites list, then by simply tapping on the name, you can see when, where and who they are playing. It gets even better from here with even more fan based features.

This app allows for real time updates to your phone as the games are being played. The notifications window that pops up once you have selected a team and event allows point by point updates to be received. This is possibly the coolest app for sports fans ever invented as it lets you follow a game even while in a meeting or some place you would rather not be such as the ballet while on a date.

To put the icing on the cake, this app is free, 100%. There is no sports fan with an Android that should be without this app. The true sports fanatic will love the instant notifications and the ability to allow it to run full time in the background while accomplishing other things on the phone.
