ATT to Google – Welcome to Our World

Posted on 27 January 2010 by admin

The Google Nexus One was released with a lot of pomp and circumstance and while the phone has potential, there have been reported flaws with the 3G connection speed. Now we can hear ATT and the iPhone snickering in the background as customers struggle with their 3G connections, but Google promises to get it fixed right away.

Google Nexus One

This is just flat out not good news for Google as they are getting slammed overseas with all of the bad news coming out of China. It is assumed that they are all but out of that market and if there first venture in the world of cell phones turns out to be a dud, they could truly be in for a world of hurt. Have they stretched themselves out too far?

It is no secret that Google made a name for themselves as the search engine kings. When people talk about getting ranked for customer exposure, Yahoo and Bing are not even mentioned. People could care less how they are ranked on those sites because Google has such a hold on the market. If you are number one on Google, your business is flowing. Their problems started when they got into the browser market and now the woes are continuing with their expansion into the cell phone market.

Is it time to get back to basics for Google or is it just a hiccup? Google is already doing damage control by saying that some of the issues may be related to the carrier as the user could be outside of the coverage zone. Ask ATT customers how they feel about that excuse. When you pay $500 for the phone, it’s the phone, not the service carrier. All we can say is welcome to the game Google, it’s not always as easy as it looks.
