Bloggers Rejoice! Wordpress and Android Unite

Posted on 03 February 2010 by admin

Wordpress, the foremost name in blogging, has introduced an open-sourced app for Android phones. The open sourcing will allow for tweaks to be suggested from many different developers and fine tune the app while in use but the version as released, allows for many different uses right out of the gate. With the input from developers not directly involved in the initial release, this app will only get better.

Wordpress Android App

Blogging via any phone can be a hassle and multiple blogging can be downright painful. This new app allows the user to manage and configure multiple blogs with ease, from any location. For those that have quite a few more blogs than just one or two, this feature will be a godsend, making multiple blogging second nature rather than an effort.

With all blogging comes the comments and whether they are good, bad or indifferent, they need to be moderated. The Wordpress app allows for comment management and also instant replies. This let real time management be performed instead of daily monitoring via a mobile device then at one time responding to all comments across multiple blog pages.

The Wordpress app will also let the user create pages or posts and upload them directly to the blog. This includes the ability to create tags and categories with full editing capabilities. Along with post creation, the app also supports photo uploads allowing for real time photographic blog updates with no interruptions.

This Android app is quite similar to wpToGo and for good reason as this was the basis used to help develop the Android app. Wordpress has stated that the new app will be used and wpToGo will be discontinued as their preferred application. Quite possibly the best feature of this app is the price…it is free and no one can argue with that.
