Google coming forward with phone support for Nexus One – finally

Posted on 09 February 2010 by admin

Google has finally come forward with some very necessary and welcome support phone line assistance for Nexus One owners. Given the volume of complaints, niggles, issues and the like, it had to be done pretty much. For now, the support is sorta limited, but its better than nothing, we would assume. Read on to see the depths of the limitations.

Nexus One

Nexus One owners do have a number they can call now, and its (888) 48NEXUS between 4am and 7pm PST to speak with a real person regarding your Nexus One. BUT (and isn't there usually a 'but' for these type of things): they will ONLY be able to get information on the status/shipping info on an existing order you've placed. Now we know this isn't the best solution, but hey, Google is trying a little bit.

For tech related issues, repairs and returns, HTC customer care is where you'll need to turn still, and T-Mobile for billing issues. Which brings up some interesting thoughts: For example, can HTC troubleshoot or fix code they didn't write?

Yes, count 'em: three different venues involved here, which needless to say is a little frustrating. We aren't saying that Google needs to be the caretaker for everything Nexus One, but a more organized system to reach help should you need it would be very helpful. Fragmentation typically leads to frustration for all involved, but hey, it'll have to do for now.

For info purposes (and to consolidate everything for our readers) here's the other numbers to contact: HTC customer care (1-888-216-4736), T-Mobile (1-877-453-1304).
