The HTC Hero will be receiving a 2.1 upgrade within the next month as per an announcement from HTC. This comes as great news to Hero users everywhere in that they will receive a multitude of new features and greatly increased functionality. The Hero currently runs on version 1 .5 which is adequate but does not allow the phone to live up to its full potential.
Version 2 .1 comes with a wide range of features that are sure to please any Hero user. They have made improvements to the navigation system which allows it to give verbal directions to the user rather than having to read. The app list also has a brand new look that is sure to have everyone talking.
The app launcher basically throws the apps onto the home screen from each of the corners and as they assemble, the apps fade into a dark background. This will also allow the apps to create a rolling effect while being navigated. The voice recognition portion of the app has been greatly improved to allow for much easier use.
This will allow the user to send texts or e-mails by simply speaking into the phone rather than having to bring up the keyboard and type everything out manually. This will make communicating via these methods much simpler and faster. This new feature will also work perfectly in conjunction with other voice-recognition apps.
Internet browsing is much more streamlined with this newest version. The browser has been fully updated to allow for much faster and easier navigation while surfing online from your phone. Included in the overall version 2 .1 is an update to HTC Sense to include a new feature called FriendStream which allows updates from Facebook, Twitter and Flickr to be consolidated on one page for easy viewing

Yes, this is an HTC Hero. A simple Google search would have prompted you with millions of pictures of the GSM Version of the HTC Hero. So before you jump to your conclusions, do some research. You do know that there is a WHOLE world outside of the States, right?

it’s a HTC Hero and I am still waiting for the famous upgrade…. every month they say it’s the next one, I am tired of looking for information on Internet to find a solution but it looks I have to wait another month….
