HTC had promised users of their phones an update to their Sense UI interface, and it seems they've delivered as of today, if their site is any indication.

HTC have launched a full ROM update for the HTC Magic. The company had said back in mid-2009 that the Magic handset sold in Asian markets would have access to this update, but it seems that now ALL non-carrier-branded devices are now eligible to grab this one all over the world. Smart move, we must say, HTC.
Yes, that means this one won't work with T-Mobile and their line of Android phones, including the myTouch 3G handset sadly. Many owners are claiming that HTC’s site requires a serial number from your phone before it will allow you to download v3.05.401.3, which is the latest firmware, since an incorrectly installed firmware update will render your phone useless, which would not be a good thing.
No work from T-Mobile if there will be this sort of update for their phones. We'd guess that T-Mobile will adapt this update to their own needs and release it at some point soon, even if its a bit later than the non-branded folks. Many users on various blogs are saying that this update will mainly be for non-branded users, and that HTC will not directly update any branded phones.
HTC also recommends backing up the data on your phone, since this update will wipe the phone completely. Here's a convenient link for you to download the latest and greatest: http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=862
