Motorola rolled out their newest update, version 1.3.18 for the Cliq handset. Many Cliq owners should have already received this update which should improve battery life, the sensitivity of the touchscreen and better GPS navigation. Along with these new features, Motorola has added Quick Office 2 to the bundle.

Quick Office 2 will allow the user to open, create and edit Microsoft Word documents right on their smart phone. This will give the user increased functionality when handling e-mail attachments and other documentation. For those who work on the go, this will be an invaluable addition to the arsenal of apps already on their phone.
This update has also taken into consideration and addressed some previous issues along with including the latest updates for most Google apps. They have improved the missed call notification by making it much more consistent. They have also reduced the issue of spontaneous speakerphone activation greatly improving the user's privacy as anyone can tell you this can happen at a most inopportune time and usually does.
The problem with the music playback coming through the external speaker rather than the earpiece has been addressed and repaired. They have also added support for WMA and WAV file types in the new update version. The GPS performance has been greatly enhanced allowing for much smoother operation of apps such as Google maps, Google navigation and Geo tagging photos.
They may change to the Bluetooth software allowing for OEM car kits to quickly display caller ID features, such as the caller's name and call history. This will also allow for the syncing of the phone book to the car's interface along with giving the user the ability to view visual voicemail over the Bluetooth connection. Motorola is also promising an update to the Android 2.1 OS although they have not specified a target date.
