Yes, ladies and gentlemen: it appears that according to various reports on blogs and websites: the inventor of Linux, Linus Torvalds now owns a Nexus One, and enjoys it, according to those reports. He does have a G1 but uses it for gaming, apparently playing Galaga and Solitaire on long airplane flights. Not exactly its intended purpose, to be sure.

It seems very proper and right that the creator of Linux, which just happens to be the base for Android and its seed so to speak, owns this device. He's been quoted as saying that smartphones are "little more than a distraction" and not really useful in everyday life, and past smartphones have been little more than annoyances to him. But...his mind seemed to swing with the touchscreen/pinch enhancements recently put out for the Nexus One.
His thoughts on the phone: “But I have to admit, the Nexus One is a winner. I wasn’t enthusiastic about buying a phone on the internet sight unseen, but the day it was reported that it finally had the pinch-to-zoom thing enabled, I decided to take the plunge. I’ve wanted to have a GPS unit for my car anyway, and I thought that google navigation might finally make a phone useful.”
My first thought was: He doesn't have a GPS for his car? The second: Phones haven't been useful until now? Many would beg to differ.
Well, it appears Linus is a big fan of Google's smartphone, and we'll see if the rest of the market agrees as the months go on.
