Nexus One owners have finally gotten what they have been asking for, an over the air update with some new features and a few much needed fixes. There were a few software glitches that needed ironing out and this has been accomplished and rolled out. A multi-touch feature is just one of the many facets of this update.

One of the major issues with the Nexus One was the 3G connectivity. Once the buck passing was finished, Google has included a fix in this update to vastly improve the somewhat spotty connection issues that were present. There are also a few more Google specific updates included in this.
Google Goggles: This app allows the user to search the Web without ever having to type in a description of an object again. Simply take a picture with the Nexus One camera and input that into the search. Locate stores or items while shopping and facts from landmarks while vacationing. This will allow you to be your own tour guide and a fount of information.
Google Maps 3.4: This will update the existing Google Maps app on your Nexus One. Starred items will be synchronized with maps.google.com to let you find all your favorite places from your phone or even your computer. There is also a Night Mode which makes following the maps while driving at night a much simpler task with a gentle backlighting feature.
The update is sent to the phone directly with no need to go download or access any other application. Once the notification is received on the phone, simply accept it and the phone will do all the work. As with any update of this magnitude, it may take some time to reach all users but be patient, it will arrive to everyone most likely within the next few days.
