Ok, so i am planning on buying the new htc g1 android phone from t mobile and unlocking it and putting my att sim card in. ive heard that i cannot use att's 3g with the phone, but i dont have unlimited data, i never use the internet, so im not bummed about that. my question is, will i still be able to use the AIM messenger, and send pictures and videos?

Depends on a lot of things. First ATT will have settings avail. to send to the G1 to make it work on thier network. Also will depend if ATT’s network requires you to have the web for using AIM.
