    • ]]>     This past Friday, someone had broken into my car and stolen a Dell Latitude laptop, that I had rented from my college's library, along with my book bag (it had my books and an Android phone in it). This is the time of year in which students steal books to sell them back, and the school has barely any cameras on the buildings to record crimes.

    I've alerted my school's public safety dept, and filed a case. Though I've reported the laptop stolen, the school's library still posted a $1000 fine on my account, which may prevent me from graduating in May.

    Though they could not find the market value for the laptop (because the laptop has been discontinued) they still charged me $1000! I KNOW the value of that laptop has dramatically depreciated! That's the price of a MACBOOK! Are they allowed to charge me market value for a discontinued laptop that has been rented out to students for years? The school is in Missouri, so their may be different laws statutes (I believe).

    • ]]>     I had purchased a Samsung Fascinate about a year ago. It was a great phone until 9 months in when it started freezing, shutting down randomly and not getting calls/text for hours after they were sent. I called Verizon and they sent me a replacement droid. It worked 10x better than the original. This past week I had turned off the phone while it was charging to restart it (I do it due to horrible reception at my home). When I tried to turn it back on, a screen came up with a picture of an Android character and a hazard sign. Above it was a menu with 4 options: Reboot now, apply update from sdcard, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. Apparently it was in manual mode. I then took out the battery and put it back in. The same thing happened. So I took out the battery again and it turned on normally. I hadn't turned the phone off since, until today. The same thing happened.

    What does this screen mean? Is it something I can disregard if it happens again? Or is it something Verizon should fix?

    • ]]>     My buddy got a android from craigslist and he charged it once he got home and there was a pattern password on it and he called the guy he bought it from and said he dosnt know it nor the gmail password cause he just threw in a password when he got it.

    He didnt say what model it was, just that its one of the 1st androids, its gray and it made from LG.

    Any suggestions on how to take off the pattern without the gmail account?

    Google launched its successor Galaxy Nexus, and at the moment I see why no reason to choose it over Nexus S (yes, Galaxy Nexus has dual core and better processor but Ice Cream Sandwich has been launched for Nexus S, and there aren't many more features that make Galaxy Nexus MUCH better).

    My mom promised to buy a new phone for me for Christmas, and Galaxy S 2 and Galaxy Nexus are way too expensive in my area, so I don't want to ask my mom for it, they're too much.
    Will I be sorry later, I mean, will it still be able to keep up in software?
    I really need a smartphone, I'm in a prestige (small as well, there aren't many of us) high school, and I constantly need to keep up with my classmates, especially when we are trying to explain a lesson to each other, smartphones really help us stay in touch. So besides that I want to have a cool enough phone. I mean it's Android, doooh (I'm just kidding, but Android rules)

    • ]]>     Rightwell i got the archos arnova 9 g2 tablet running 2.3 gingerbread
    I downloaded skype from apps lib and its works good but before i downloaded it said that from 2.2 up can do video calls. My tablet only has a front facing camera/webcam, but wen i go to send a video call its blank.... and i press the little camera icon abd only has back camera or turn off how can i get my front camera to work?
    i went on skypes website and says that my tablet can be used for vid calls and i have checked and i do have video calls enabled in the settings. It thinks i have a back camera when i dont so how do i get my front camera to work mwith skype?

    Any help will be great!

    Yeah i will tomorrow and think its new because before all i could find was "iskoot for skype" andtoday the actuall 1 came up i was fank f**k for that so hopefully if it is a bug it will be fixed soon
