The car charger isn’t as rapid as I would hope. It appears to be charging at .5mv (I think that’s the correct term) when the phone is actually capable of accepting 1mv.

When I saw the price of this product, I thought it was to good to be true and guess what….it was. All three of the cables have the wrong connector. The Sprint HTC HERO utilizes a USB MINI AB connector and each of cables in this bundle come with a USB MINI A connector. The product page fails to state the type of connector used. I have contacted the seller and awaiting a response.

I purchased this days after the Hero came out. I have had the kit for about a week now. I am unimpressed. I received this and initially thought they sent the wrong thing. As the ends of the connectors where not the same as the phone. Though I went ahead and put the wall charger in and it fits inside the hole and charges the phone. However… when left plugged in until the charge is full. The phone will not respond to anything on the screen if it does its incorrect or uncontrollable jumpy. At that point the only option is to reboot the phone which has to be done with the track stick as it will not respond to the shut down command for the screen. Partial charges render the phone crippled until reboot with varying degrees of reaction.
The car charger and usb cable I have not tried so I can not fully review them. I am afraid they will create havoc with the phone as the home charger does. Though they have the same kind of connectors and I would think render the same results. Though I can not say for sure.
the case that comes with this set is very nice and the reason I gave 2 stars. Its a perfect fit even with a rubberized cover over the Hero. the clip on the back is very strong almost to the point of fault but that to me means it will stay in place the longer its used. The magnet that holds the cover shut is very strong also which is good you don’t have to worry about it popping open and dropping you phone out.
At the price I paid, I would have to pay almost that in shipping to return it. I don’t see the point in even doing an RMA or refund. Nor do I wish to waste my time with tech support troubleshooting as this is what I do for a living. I will just do more research next time or buy a name brand. As the saying goes you get what you pay for.
