Can you use the internet and the phone functions together on a Motorola Droid?

Posted on 09 February 2010 by admin

How limited is the Verizon network in regards to using the internet (data) and phone functions simultaneously with the Motorola Droid? Are there some apps that will work, or are they just talking about using the phone and the internet browser together? And most importantly, if you cannot use the two together, how does this affect the phone's performance? Will the phone even ring if you are using the internet (i.e. accessing data)?

The internet and phone functions are definitely able to be used at the same time.

The phone and data are actually on two separate networks, there is the data network (EV-DO or 3g) and the cell service network. As long as you have signal for both (which you will) you can talk on the phone while browsing the internet and send text messages.

The droid’s performance is also outstanding, it has a fast processor, loads pages and apps amazingly. The screen is very high resolution, near double to the iphone’s and the browser itself loads very quickly.
