Husband and I are in the market to buy a new smart phone, and we've narrowed it down to the Nexus One or iPhone.
We've read all the articles, all the comparisons, we know that the Nexus is a little bigger, has a better camera, and a better OS. iPhone has more applications, but we're not terribly concerned that we won't be able to find what we need within the 20k apps that Nexus One has.
It seems like it's really hard to narrow down the pros/cons list comparing these two phones, so I'm looking for any opinion or other idea that we haven't thought of yet and need to consider. I'm hoping someone who is a real gadget/techy nerd can help out
.
Right now we are on T-Mobile's network, and in Dallas, so we have a good network area with T-Mobile, but obviously we would be willing to switch if we find that the iPhone is a better option.
Opinions please?

AT&T is horrible…their coverage and service alone makes the Nexus the winner. Google is the future of smart-phones. You will only use about 10 apps anyways which google will undoubtedly have.

honestly its all about you…iphone has more apps and better usage its easier to use in my opinion it has a app for almost anything while the nexus is just another android phone it does the same thing as all the other ones does its just its outside that looks different to the next adroid phone
The android phones are just another phone that runs a little faster and its apps arent that great iphone offers alot more to me

You see, the Nexus One has a much faster processor (think of it as a brain, although by your question you seem to have a good grip on tech terms) that will make all apps run faster. It has a large app variety, in my opinion has a much “prettier” or eye candy User Interface. The best Gmail app is obviously the one made by google ha, and also the thing with the iPhone is that it is due for a refresh in a few months, so you may want to hold off if you go that route. One main advantage with the droid is that you arent limited to the apps that get through Apple’s “approval process”, and also support an open source project (Android, the Nexus’s OS. for info on what open source is, google). Overal, the nexus one is the way to go.

I have the iPhone 3Gs and an unlocked Nexus One. Unfortunately, I have AT&T as my carrier so when I’m using the Nexus, I’m stuck with AT&T’s Edge network. The speed varies. When I’m at home, it’s pretty fast. At least as fast as 3G, even 3GS speed. When I’m at my sister’s house, it’s really slow. I think it’s because she doesn’t have good coverage where she lives. Since you have T-Mobile, that’s not going to be a problem.
I don’t buy apps, much less use them. I don’t have a facebook. I don’t twitter. All I use it for are: calling, web browsing, e-mail, picture taking, traffic updates to make commuting easier, and weather since it’s winter here in Boston. With that, I prefer the Nexus One.
I think the Nexus is just a better smart phone overall. The Nexus’s graphics is so much better than the iPhone’s graphics. It’s a faster system. The camera is better. It’s 5 MP and has flash.
The only thing I don’t like about the Nexus is that it’s a bit complicated to use. I had to mess around with it until I can what I want to do. The touch is sometimes a little bit more (more so than the iPhone). When I touch something, sometimes, it’s not what I touched. The zoom in/out sometimes gets in the way when I’m trying to touch something.

I’m currently with T-mobile, I love their customer service & I have no problem of reception.
I’ve been wanting to get an iphone, but I didn’t want to switch to ATT because many of my friends have it and have a problem of drop calls. They love their iphone, but hate coverage- something to think about.
I was willing to sacrifice my T-mobile loyalty to get iphone, but now that nexus one came out- I’m really re-considering staying with T-mobile and a better phone (or at least I hope).
I’ve been reading and watching videos about nexus one & iphone and even though iphone looks prettier, I think & hope nexus one is the phone to go with.
BUt if you still want iphone, wait for the summer to get their latest one

you should get an unlocked/jailbreak iphone and use it on tmobile. With jailbreak iphone you can do everything and get all the apps for free including productivity for office use.
