How Does AIM work on the T-Mobile Android G1?

Posted on 08 January 2010 by admin

Do you have to pay for it? Does it sign you out when the phone goes into standby? Do you get your full buddy list and choice of away messages?

No, you do not have to pay for AIM because IM is a part of the data plan you pay for monthly. And when your phone goes on standby, it does not sign you out, only if you turn your phone off will it. And yes, you do get your entire buddy list as you would see on your computer, but you only get the standard “Away” “Available” and “Invisible” away messages–you can’t customize them.

I ‘ve recently got the g1 and I am very unhappy with the aim. It constantly signs off out of no where & it sometimes doesn’t show your buddylist. I ‘d wish it was just like the sidekick’s aim. G1s aim; Horrible. Also, if you use meebo, its somewhat better, just doesn’t sign off too often.
