If I bought the Motorola Droid with Wifi internet access would I still have to pay for internet with Verizon?

I heard that it costs $30 a month for phone internet access with Verizon. If the Motorola Droid has wifi access to it then would I still pay that sum monthly? Please give me some good news cause I really want this phone!!

yeah for sure, not only that but you also may have data limits or even have to pay for the amount of data your phne views, this is why I left verizon actually

Yes the wifi network will work in wifi hotspots only ANY smart phone on ANY network not just verizon charges that 30 dollar data charge for smartphones its is an unlimited package for data so i have no clue what previous answer was talking about being charged more then just the base 30.

Any smartphone does require the unlimited data plan at $30, regardless of if you use it on Verizon’s network or not. If you just want it for WiFi, then buy a used one and don’t activate it
