With the ipod you will need to check into the extra charges to use some of the services. Sprint has no extra charge and it actually has more coverage. As for one phone being better than the other is hard to say. Anyone with an ipod has not used a moment for any length of time, so they are not in a position to say that phone is better than the moment. I say go for the samsung moment.
