I'm getting the Motorola Cliq, but my dad doesn't want to be under contract. Therefore, he's getting a FlexPay account, which doesn't subsidize the cost of the phone, making it 400 dollars. I find this amount for an average Android smartphone insane! I was wondering if there are any current Android phones out for less, and on a non-contract plan for about the same amount. Thank you.

I just switched to a flex account and got a clique. It ends up to be about the same as you pay more for the contract but less for the phone. Kind of a shell game of sorts.

The click is still on android 1.5 but it’s interface is fairly advanced for the 1.5 and I don’t miss the 1.6 or 2.x versions of my other android phone.
