Ok So I want to buy the HTC Hero Android phone for Sprint and…?

I have a few questions.

1. Can you receive phone calls and text while you are browsing the web or using an App?

2. Can you use the web while you are on the phone? (i.e. on the phone with a friend, want to get movie times, put them on speaker and go on the web)

3. I see the HTC Hero for Sprint comes with Android OS 1.5. Does Android send any type of over the air updates to their operating systems? I know 2.0 came out for the Verizon Droid, so is this phone stuck with the 1.5 OS system forever?

4. Is it worth upgrading NOW or should I wait? Anybody have any insight into future Android phones that are coming out for Sprint. This is quite the investment for the next two years, and I need to know if i should do the upgrade to the Hero now, or wait a few months? Problem is, I have a ancient samsung slider and I need a smartphone soon!

      3. Sprint’s HTC Hero is getting the 2.1 upgrade, available for download from your phone under system updates, sometime “soon”

      -taken from Sprint’s twitter: “Slight clarification on Android OS updates for the HTC Hero & Samsung Moment. Will be updating straight to Android 2.1, not 2.0, in 1H2010.”

      1H meaning 1st half

      4. NOW. Come on, you know you want the phone badly.. do yourself a favor and get the phone :) Jk, I’m sure there will be greater phones to come but I guess it comes down to how long you are willing to wait? Hmm..

      2- yes, while you are using a WiFi.
      3- there is always Fresh ROM 1.1 yet as Luke said 2.1 (not 2.0) is coming out soon.
      4- Yes and No, as Luke said “it comes down to how long you are willing to wait?” How ever as far as I understand there are at least two new devices been release either right before or during the summer. I have the Hero and do not regret the upgrade or the contract
