It depends on what you use a cell phone for. The HTC Touch Pro 2 is a really nice phone! But it has a bad web browser compared to the hero’s. If you use a phone mainly for texting, and calling, get the pro 2. The pro 2 also has this really neat feature with calling. It allows you to conference call with many people at once, it blocks sound of back round noise, and if you lay it on its front side it will immediately go into speaker phone mode. It has a mute button in back for speaker phone mode too. Now the hero. The hero has a nice touch screen key board, to me not even close to as nice as the pro 2’s. But it has a large app store, has great internet capabilities, has a nice camera (both touch pro 2 and hero’s cameras are equal). Plus it is ran on google android, and has a special HTC feature called HTC Sense. Great for you to be able to customize. So they both are great! It just depends what you use it for. Good luck!

Get the Hero. The mush of Windows vs HTC operating systems on the Touch pro 2 (had one 2 months now) is a nightmare, it’s neither one nor the other and does both badly as a result. The touch pro is excellent for text and its wi-fi connectivity is easy and impeccable – otherwise it’s a case of style over function. However the mixture of controls means it’s frustratingly easy to launch stuff by mistake when all you want to do is answer a call or check the call log, for e.g. My friend has the HTC magic and it’s far better in most respects, just not so flash.

Please don’t get an HTC Touch Pro 2. I am on my 3rd one in as many months. This one is junk also…and goes back after work tonight. Each of the 3 Pro 2’s I’ve had suffer from freeze-ups, sluggish performance (you can’t actually even call it performance – rather, sluggish non-performance), applications don’t work (email). Even though this phone is supposedly capable of a lot – I only need to make phone calls, do email, and text message. So far it will only do phone and text for more than a few days at a time. Three months – three phones…..and this one is going back.
JUNK!
