You might just think google puts there ads anywhere but they don’t. And right now android is only getting so many updates because of the nexus one. Without it, android would still be around the Hero’s firmware. And the iPhone came out in 2007, while the G1 came out in 2008, the same year Apple’s App store launched.

Ya and that was a lot of money on Apple’s side and they had to purchase the ads on the internet and google doesn’t. But seriously, to understand the whole ad situation to have to that google knows a lot about your tastes. They have your google account at which they can see all the sites you go on, they have you email so they know who you contact with, they have your youtube searches to know what your in to. So googles ads are more powerful because of that data.

I’d also like to add that iPhones have only been around for one year longer than Android. And the fact the the Nexus One is actually a “google” phone means ADS! ADS! ADS! Ads on youtube, ads on engaget, ads on facebook, ads on twitter. I’d be suprised if there isn’t a single person using the internet who doesn’t know what the nexus one is. And because it’s google they know where to implament there ads, PC websites, video game sites, obviously youtube, and wherever women can be found.

You say that more and more people are going to android, but that happens all of the time. People often don’t stay in the family of phones for long. In fact, right now there are probably hundreds of thousands of new Droid owners wishing they would have bought they iPhone instead. Consumers usually buy the phone with the network, rather than the network with the phone.

Dude, it’s the first ACTUAL google phone, of course it’s going to recieve attention. When Apple came out with the first iPhone, they recieved a WHOLE lot more attention than google. Look at news stations and music sites, they’re making iPhone apps, not Android. And if the first google phone wont get people to switch from iPhone to Android then no Android phone will.
My real guess, google just made this phone to see how much clout they have in the cellphone industry.

With that said…androids getting massive attention for the short time they have been around and …they are very very aggrassive-prehaps more so then apple now. that being so I think its only time when Android steps on Apple
January 14th, 2010 at 7:25 pm

As long as people the average consumer don’t give much of a second thought about processors, camera mega pixels or super high res cellphone displays the iPhone will be the phone of choice.
January 14th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
First of all, I’d like to thank you for not calling me an ifag, macfag, ifagboi, or stupid apple fanboi, as I do get that a lot lol. Having said that, I do disagree with some of the things you said.
I do believe that the Apple mantra works here, as well. You see, OS X made operating systems and computers simpler and easier to use for the average consumer. iPhone OS does the exact same thing for Smartphones. And google didn’t make Android to be simple, they made it for the tech enthusiast.

Now if-r when apple comes out with a new iphone-that has new feets then they have a chance in staying ahead of all but the aggresivness of Google-and the fact that even ifanboys are looking bright eyed at Andriod…I just dont know-if Apple will out sell andriod for much longer…yo
January 14th, 2010 at 9:54 pm

January 14th, 2010 at 11:24 pm
It’s a low-end phone and 3 mega pixels is plenty for an average smartphone. The image quality is a whole lot more important than the size, really.
