You can also use “Map of” command to look at the results on the map. You don’t even have to go map application. You can just long press on the magnifying glass in the bottom of the screen. It doesn’t even matter what application you are running at that time. It works great.

yes you have to say “navigate” or “directions to” and it will take you straight to the nav. screen.
It doesn’t go straight to maps because when the phone is in the dock, it’s in car mode. So it’s handsfree. The phone does what you tell it.
yeah, review fail
This guy doesn’t really know how to use Google Navigator. Say navigate to best buy instead of just best buy!
Who is up at 7:05
Dude, the fricken thing is free. It works fantastic. I have no complaints. It beats spending $100 dollars for a Tom Tom.
Yes, there is some quirks but I’m sure Google will eventually work it out because it is still in BETA.
Secondly, it is navigate to Best Buy and it goes to the closest area to your location.
Thirdly, I do agree that it is hard to get out of the 3d vs 2d.
He is making this much harder than is really is, like you just have to say navigate first and it by passes on those other steps…. should do homework before making video.
what happens if in addition to your destination you speak the word “map”
TIP: Say “Navigate to Best Buy”. The Droid will then by-pass the google search results.
I agree that when you’re already in the Car App it should give navigation by default.
The other feature I wish it had was a command to zoom from full route map to directions. (Maybe it can do that easily but it took me a number of steps).
I hope a Google engineer sees this video. You are providing excellent feedback, Phandroid. Keep up the good work!
how about trying saying “Directions to Best Buy” instead of just “best buy”.
VOICE ACTIVATED SEARCH!
Suck on that iphone fanboys!
Suck it hard and don’t you dare spit it out!
Nice review. 2comments tho:
1- I really think the OS expects you to use keywords like map and navigate to get what you want.
2- did you try pressing “home” to get back to the car home?
Surely if you said something like, “Best Buy in Kentucky” it would select/display the correct Best Buy for you?
exactly, you have to say “navigate to best buy”
its still in beta chill out man
why are u complaining? its already better than all the gps system on the market.
wow, at 6:57am? You were really excited to make this review, huh?
I hope they release the voice feature for the portuguese language soon (I live in Brazil and I own an HTC Hero black “chin” edition)
Thanks and regards!
try saying navigate to best buy.
4D! lol maybe 4WD? I don’t understand the mixup between the maps and navigation either.. let’s hope they’ll update fast.
