@symz81 Yeah, you’re right!. And I thought there were supposed to be 9 home screens. If you search “Android 2.1 Test-Build auf dem Motorola Milestone” the video (sorry it’s in German) at around 0:50-0:54 the guy shows the menu where you can select up to 9. I know it’s a test-build, but even the test kicks the stuffing out of anything I’ve seen for the droid. So, is the upgrade just a waste of time for us milestone owner’s?

i dont get it…its the exact same as the milestone features which already has multi-touch and its running android 2.01 so what will our update include??? we already have multi-touch? is just optimizing the OS to run faster???

not the official 2.1 update….the official update began rolling out yesterday 3/30 and will continue to roll out to 200,000 droid users on 4/1……i have the official 2.1 update now and it does have live wallpapers so this obviously was not the official update

This could be the version originally expected for Jan 22. They tested it for a while and decided “we can add more!” Then there was one expected recently. They tested it for a while and said “we can add more, perhaps 3D app launcher and wallpapers!” Now, the one we’re expected to get, COULD have all the features of Nexus 1. My friend from Verizon says he was told 2/26/10 for the release date. Could feature more than this crappy build!

I hate to keep running you in circles.. but once again, you have no evidence that you are qualified to make that statement. As far as I’ve read ERE29 isn’t even being considered as a RC. I’m not even saying that any of the expected features will make it into a release build.. just that you aren’t qualified, just as I’m not, to make any statements as to the “officialness” of an internal test build..

I know man. I understand where you’re coming from.
This was technically an official build hat verizon was ready to put out, but at the last minute they found bugs so they pulled it.
ERE25 is almost exactly the same as the build that will be officially released, I promise.
I know there are newer builds out there (such as ERE29) but they have no new features whatsoever.

cool video…I have been waiting for Nexus One to come to Verizon the Droid has gotten better though
November 19th, 2011 at 8:53 pm
that’s an incorrect statement. As a developer I can tell you anything made for internal testing is not “official” its “internal” what you have there is a leaked internal build, nothing official about it. As far as I’ve been able to find from around the net 2.1 ERE25 was never even a RC build.

Yup, this one has already been scrapped. But never in my video did I say this was final

Never in my video did I say this was the final build. This is an official build.

2.1 update1*
November 19th, 2011 at 10:55 pm
I’m sorry but I can guarantee this is not what the of Official OTA 2.1 will be, First off it wouldn’t just say 2.1, it would be atleast 2.1 update11 and your build number is off. nice try, and if you arent trying, then someone just lied to you.
November 19th, 2011 at 11:35 pm
also just to note there has been a lot of talk on various forums about versioning on the 2.1 update for the droid. This version 2.1 ERE25 was going to be the update most were expecting by the end of January. Later the update version was moved to ERE29 and we are still waiting for any news as to this being the final version or if another version later in the scale was coming. So, yes you did get your hands on a very early and potential official release.. but its more like a reject now.
November 19th, 2011 at 11:45 pm
I have no way of knowing you are even remotely qualified to make that statement. No offence, but you’re just another faceless internet person with a phone video. I have no way of possibly being able to believe you know the exact details of the final official build of android 2.1 on this device will be. I’ll stick to what’s being said on the wider scale.
November 19th, 2011 at 11:56 pm
It’s definitely an early build. But sadly the official update will not include flash, 5 screens, live wallpapers, or even the 3d app launcher.
I know, its depressing.
November 20th, 2011 at 12:35 am
may be official, but I also think this may be an internal build. There is no flash, no live wallpapers, only 3 screens.. we’ve already seen that the hardware of the droid can handle all of that and more. I’m not saying its a fake at all, but possibly an early build to get some features tested out, if it was ready to ship we’d all have it.

Android 2.1 = no Flash?
