When I try to update firmware Kies encounters an error and needs to shut down. Any Ideas why this happens.

Hey Your3tubeS, i dunno if u r the right person or not, all i know is that i need a help.
i had android 2.1 and yest i upgraded using KIES but it still shows android 2.1-update 1 and some strange Kernel version (2.6.29 jh755.kim@SE-S605 #2)
The thing is that i am getting the task manager which comes with Froyo, but ders no change in the icons or build number, which still shows ECLAIR.DDJG4

@Incognito6543 And also i have only two subfolders and the second one does not have the entries you mentiones… I was wondering should I create them?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:20 pm
Please help me.
I cannot update to Froyo.
I change the registery entries but Kies reverts them back,
and when I check them they’ve turned back to their original values.
And no, I don’t close the Registry Editor but still, nor do I close Kies.
Also, I noticed that for my model, it says
“the device cannot be updated”
instead of
“the latest version is already installed on the connected device”
Please help or else I’ll be stuck with this version forever!

in addition:
at first it didn’t work becouse i had (android 2.1) jf3 rom running, first i had to update the usual way to jm2 rom (also android 2.1)
next i had to change the register entries, as described in your tutorial.
and after that i was able to update my galaxy s to android 2.2 using kies software.
