Taking a look at the Seidio Innocase Active X, a dual layered case which features a hybrid design of silicone and hard plastic. A popular combination with most cases, this one in particular looks to provide maximum protection in a slim package. How does it fare? @Technoriety The casemate has plastic and silicone on every corner. Not just one of the materials. I believe it is a superior design and the silicone is very thick too.

@MisterDrumngun – I just bought one of these cases, from the Seidio website. I like it so far.
Its very spongie, which is what I want, as that extra sponginess will help absorb impact (the main reason for getting this case.
I had considered the Case mate, but that seemed to be more plastic and less room for sponge.

@Technoriety Wrong, the ABS plastic has a low modulus of elasticity and tensile strength. The fact that it breaks is a mere observance that it is brittle, not absorbing all of the impulse. Think about a glass case. Just because it breaks on impact does not mean it is protecting the phone.

@MisterDrumngun – If the plastic breaks on impact, then that means it absorbed the impact, rather than passing the force on to your phone. It’s better that the case breaks rather than the phone itself.

Nexus s, like the look weary of the poor silicone, but I’m looking for something heavy duty like this

(Nexus S) Decent case…I hate how most good cases will normally make my phone so huge that it bulge in my pocket…Other than that it’s seems study from your review. Thanks!

Just got my Nexus S. Your reviews have been very helpful!

@AppReviewa The POP case actually offers more protection bc the Seido uses a cheap ABS plastic that breaks very easily. Where as the POP case will take impact after impact.

@AppReviewa Thanks! Last question, which of the cases add less bulk to the phone? Both pop and active case seems to add a considerable amount of thickness. Based on your assertion that the pop gives less protection, is it safe to assume that it is also the thinner case of the two?
It’s just a bummer that it costs more than $30 to send either cases to my country or I would buy both. I just wish Seido or Casemate offered EMS instead of FedEx to lower costs… :S

@e30ernest I’d go for the Pop, the Active offers more in terms of protection however it doesn’t add much in terms of look or design, I can live with a little less protection if it looks nice :p

Nexus S – I’m loving your case reviews. I’m looking for a good case for my Nexus S and your reviews have been really helpful.
How does the Seidio Active X case compare to CaseMate’s Pop-Case for the Nexus S? If you were to use one daily, which of the two would you pick?
Thanks!
