Aaron takes the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II's 1080p camcorder for a test drive in San Diego! Walking through the Gaslamp district, sound quality was surprisingly good (despite the clearing of the throat at the beginning) , and video quality was impressive. If you're looking for a phone that shoots great video, the Galaxy S II might be your series. Shot at 3:07 PM on October 10, 2011. Good quality but it was unfocused and the 4s has way better image stabilization

@esaedvik Thumbs up on that. People pay $400 for a device & apple limits it incredibly & tells them what they can & can’t do with it. Thats my biggest con with the iphone, other than it being about 4yrs behind the curve. But ur right they’re not HD screens per se but the clarity & quality look better than a lot of HD lcd tvs do. We were streaming live tv on the epic touch n the sprint store & the colors r way more vivid than the 42″ HD sony they had on the wall.

@c2g1980 Quite true. Not that they have HD screens yet tho (Galaxy Note is the first phone with a 720p screen). There just isn’t a really proper name for these since they outgrew from the old smartphone mold a long time ago. I don’t really care what they’re called as long as they do what I want them to do and not what Steve or Apple want me to do with the device. Has to be customizable to my needs.

@Tr1pTr0p It is, it’s the same Sony Exmor R sensor that’s in the Sony Ericsson ARC. Might be a newer revision, but the tech is Sony’s and it’s very nice. Galaxy S 2 has a really nice camera too, but it could do with a proper stabilizer especially for video.

This is probably the best phone camera/voice quality I’ve seen yet.

@esaedvik I actually don’t consider these Galaxy S2s phones or even smartphones. Its r literally a laptop that fits in ur pocket & just happens to make calls. HD screens for HQ video recording, picture taking, streaming videos on the web etc… They have great sound quality now as well to replace ur mp3 player as well. The old treo 700p, the iphone4 & the HTC phone 7 r examples of smartphones. This thing is so much more.
